I C Rumbold Plumbing & Heating – has been established for over 30 years. We started up in 1976 and became established in 1980, with our first premises in Orwell and then we moved to our current location in Melbourn in 1986, where we have continued to develop the company.

In 1977 we started our first major site work which was for Connolly Homes and have continued working with them to this day. Other developers in our portfolio are Abbey Homes, Linden Homes, Bovis, GP Builders, Potton Homes, Parkway Developments, Leech Homes, Deejak, W J Mead, ISG Jackson and Barratt Homes.

The heating side of the business meant that an electrician would be required from time to time to fit heating controls etc. We then realised that our customers required other electrical works to be carried out such us installing new lighting, switches etc from this the electrical side of the company was born. We now offer a comprehensive range of electrical services.

Prompted with advances in technology and the environmental demand for a reduction in Carbon Dioxide emissions, in 2004 our first step into renewable energies was to Solar Thermal we have completed many design and installations with great success. Soon we moved on to Rain Water Harvesting and Heat Pumps. Our aim is to keep up to date with new technologies and we are soon to become members of the microregeneration certification scheme.

Our comprehensive services are service & maintenance, renovation & small works, onsite design and installation, commercial, electrical and renewable energy.

We can design any size of project from a single domestic house to large housing or commercial developments and are happy to work directly with the architect or client, suggesting heating and plumbing solutions, or work from existing drawings. The systems we install are modern sustainable systems, into which renewable technologies can be incorporated.

Our connection with major manufacturers insures that we have extensive knowledge of their products, which enables us to supply our customers with the ideal solutions for their requirements. This connection with the manufacturers gives us priority if any after sales care is required.

We have an efficient, knowledgeable and customer orientated team of fitters, dressed in uniforms with clean vans. For piece of mind our fitters carry photo ID in the form of their Gas Safe Registration Cards.

Our service department provides a friendly, informative service, ensuring that once our engineers have been out on the initial call out, you are kept informed of any costs going forward and progress on completing the job in hand.
